Important Reminders for Fraternal Leaders |
District DeputyConduct a quarterly district meeting with council leaders to get a quick status report, discuss best practices and struggles, and provide support where needed.Verify your councils have submitted the Report of Officers Chosen for the Term (#185), Service Program Personnel Report (#365), and Semiannual Council Audit (#1295). These are the minimum requirements for a healthy and sustainable council. Grand KnightMeet regularly with your Pastor to discuss how your council can serve the parish and community.Appoint a committee to work with the Financial Secretary on updating member contact information. It is essential that a council have a valid phone number and email address for every member on the roster. Use personal contacts, parish directories, internet searches, etc. to help gather the information. |
Financial SecretaryIf your council accounting period ends June 30, then November 15 is the deadline to ensure that your council submits the proper IRS Form 990 (US Councils only). Keep Christ in ChristmasEach year, we receive hundreds of high-quality entries from children for the Christ in Christmas Poster Contest. Reach out to the schools, homeschool groups, and CCD programs in your area to organize a contest for children in grades K-8. Council winners are due to their state councils by early February. For those jurisdictions with regional competitions, they are due in January. For more information, review the Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest Guidebook. Each year’s winners are also featured in Christmas cards that can be purchased by councils. |
Quarterly Incentives for District Deputies |
We are pleased to announce the incentive prizes available this year as part of our quarterly DD awards program. As a reminder, the qualification criteria this year are exactly the same as last year, as follows:Q1 – attain 30% of district intake goal by September 30. AWARD – KofC branded 30 oz. Paying Your Council’s Supreme Council Assessments |
Your council statements are available through the Order’s website www.kofc.org in the Reports tab in Officers Online and can be viewed and downloaded by any officer that has access to Officers Online, when viewing council data. The following council officers have access to Officers Online: grand knights, financial secretaries, deputy grand knights, advocates, treasurers, and membership directors. Please note that a tutorial is available at www.kofc.org/viewstatements that will guide you through the steps to access and review your council’s billing statement online prior to submitting your payment for the amount due to the Supreme Council. If you need a council statement sent to you via email or hard copy, send a message to Statements@kofc.org or by writing to General Office, 1 Columbus Plaza, New Haven, CT., 06510. |
