Programs |
Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest Each year, councils invite children in grades 8-12 to write unique essays on topics of interest. This year’s topic is timely: What are the two most important virtues for an elected leader to possess, and why? How can you determine if the leader has these virtues? Please contact schools, parish families, and home school groups as soon as possible to promote this program. Students should write their essay in September as judging takes place at the council level in October. Your Council will be amazed at the beautiful write-ups you receive. For more information, please review the program’s Guidebook. |
Family of the MonthOver the years, councils have nominated many wonderful families for the magnificent work they do at their parish and in their community for Family of the Month. I encourage you to continue nominating these families, so they know their outstanding work does not go unnoticed. Please thoroughly fill out the 10784 form when selecting a family. For more information on this program, please visit www.kofc.org/familyofthemonth. |
Ultrasound InitiativeHelp the Knights of Columbus reach our 2,000th ultrasound machine! Did your council find a quality pregnancy resource center to support through the ASAP program? If yes, ask if it needs a life-saving ultrasound machine for its clients. If your council helped place a machine in a center over seven years ago, consider reaching out to that center to see if their machine is still functional or if they need to replace it. Studies show that upwards of 80% of women will choose life after seeing an ultrasound image. Visit kofc.org/ultrasound for resources and to learn more. |

Taking the Lead: Complete the Fraternal Survey Today |
Annually, the Fraternal Survey is sent via postal mail to all members in the US and Canada. This survey is an invaluable tool that allows your General Agent and Field Agent to gather crucial insights and feedback from you and your council’s members. Brother Knights can complete the survey by filling out the paper form and sending in the prepaid envelope, or they can complete online through a unique QR code/URL. Surveys are now in the mail and you and your council’s members will start receiving them in the coming days. We encourage you to lead by example and to complete the forthcoming Fraternal Survey when it arrives in your mailbox.Furthermore, an all-member email will be sent soon to inform every member about the Fraternal Survey and its significance.
