Have the committee look beyond the usual volunteers to find a good mix of candidates representing fresh ideas and sound council practices.In honor of Founder’s Day, March 29, coordinate a district wide Exemplification of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity during the month of March. Invite attendees to bring donations for a local pro-life center, food bank or homeless shelter. Conduct a quarterly district meeting to ensure your councils close the fraternal year strong. Review Star Council progress, council election procedures, and have council leaders share best practices. It is vital to the health of our Order that we keep accurate records of our charitable donations and good works. Your diligence is crucial to our success in gathering this information. Contact all your councils to ensure they have completed the Annual Survey of Fraternal Activity (#1728). Programs are great opportunities to invite men of the parish to join your council.If your council participated in an approved Fraternal Benefits Seminar, confirm with your field agent that the proper report was submitted to the Supreme Council.Financial SecretaryCouncil Payments Due – The Per Capita, Catholic Advertising and Culture of Life levies are due to the Supreme Council before April 10. Failure to pay will result in suspension of the council. A suspended council may not be seated at their state convention, nor are its members eligible to be delegates to the Supreme Council Meeting and Convention.ProgramsSupport New Vocations through the RSVP ProgramSeminarians, religious postulants and novices are the future of our Church, but their numbers are dwindling. Every effort must be made by councils to support new vocations through the RSVP program. For every $500 given to an individual, the Supreme Council will refund the council or assembly $100. On Nov. 5, 2022, the Knights of Transfiguration Council 10362 in Marietta, Georgia, held their second annual Carry the Cross fundraiser at Kennesaw Mountain. Working in teams, Knights and other parishioners carried 40-pound wooden crosses up the 1,808-foot summit to raise money for the seminarians of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Gerry De Filippo of Council 10362 explained, “Our job is to take the seminarians under our wing and give them the support that they need.” ![]() Food for FamiliesPlan a Food for Families food drive this spring to help food banks and food pantries that may be struggling to keep the shelves stocked, keeping in mind that whenever we feed the hungry, we are truly serving Christ.
