The call to protect life takes different forms, and Knights answer it in different ways. This issue of Knightline shares just a few examples of selfless service, from supporting pregnant women and young mothers in need to helping defend one’s homeland.

Knights for LifeThe grand knight of St. Clare of Assisi Council 9708 in Houston contacted Loving Choice Pregnancy Help Center last year with a simple question: “What can we do?” Before long the Knights were helping the center expand its space by about 50%, a project recently recognized with an International Program Award. WATCH HEREWith the Order’s new ASAP (Aid and Support After Pregnancy) program, local council donations to pregnancy resource centers such as Loving Choice now receive a 20% boost. Another Texas council, Santa Rosa de Lima Council 12522 in Andice, was the very first to apply for ASAP funds after the program launched in July — a distinction in keeping with its history of strong support for PRCs and maternity homes. READ MORE

Vincent LombardiNew York City ferry boat captain Vince Lombardi’s quick thinking and steady nerves helped avert catastrophe when a passenger jet landed on the Hudson River in January 2009 — an incident that became known as the “Miracle on the Hudson.” Capt.
