National celebrations such as Canada Day (July 1) and Independence Day (July 4) remind Knights of their duty to exemplify the virtue of patriotism — recognized as the Order’s fourth principle since 1900, with the establishment of the Fourth Degree. In remarks on Patriots’ Day this past April, Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly noted, “Whichever nation he calls home, a brother Knight is a patriot. He serves his homeland; he preserves life and liberty; and he proclaims the truth.” |

Medal of Honor KnightsThe Medal of Honor is the highest and most prestigious military decoration of the U.S. government, given to service members who have exhibited “conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty.” Eleven members of the Knights of Columbus are among the pantheon of military personnel who have received the honor since the award was first presented in the American Civil War. ‘The Long Haul’Thousands of boxes of food and essential supplies for people displaced by war arrived in Ukraine during May and June via the Knights of Columbus Charity Convoy. The Charity Convoy initiative began weeks after the Russian invasion, as the Order started working with Ukrainian trucking companies to send shipments — funded by the Ukraine Solidarity Fund — from warehouses in Poland across the border. The All-Time Catholic Baseball All-Star TeamCatholic Athletes for Christ (CAC) presents the opportunity to vote for the greatest Catholic baseball all-star team of all time, including various Hall of Famers and members of the Knights of Columbus.
